How Can Your Major Make The World A Better Place?

Hello everyone, as I mentioned before I am a student of Dentistry at the University of Chile, and today I will talk a little about this.

It is due to begin by pointing out that like other jobs, that of a dentist is very important in society, because they have a great impact on people, both in maintaining good oral health and aesthetics in the oral area, it is also important to emphasize that this career has different specialties to work on specific oral ailments.

Referring to oral health, we as professionals have the objective of helping our patients to prevent and treat diseases or disorders that develop in the mouth, affecting the gums, teeth, etc. and not only that, but we can also help improve the quality of life and appearance of each individual, for example, with the installation of braces, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and many more.

During the process that I have been immersed in the career, I have learned much more about dentistry and the roles in which it participates, actually has been much more than I expected, and every day I appreciate that this is a career that positively affects people, because this is something that allows me to feel that if I can be part of a change in the world, and this I can achieve by helping a person to feel comfortable and confident with his smile, diagnosing and treating oral or congenital problems, preventing people from suffering from periodontal diseases that can then generate more serious problems, in conclusion, we as professionals can improve the quality of life in some aspects, which is wonderful and is one of the reasons why I am pursuing this career.

Finally it is important to emphasize that although the dentist supports with the treatments, it is also the patient's responsibility to maintain the work and care of our oral health.
